K&H e-bank with SMS identification FAQ

I came across one of these messages when I tried to enter my e-bank application with SMS identification.

Change in the login process after September 18, 2009!

As long as you already gave an ePIN code that belongs to the K&H personal ID number before your current login, you can enter by using it.

As long as you do not yet have an K&H ePIN code that belongs to the personal ID number, then you will have to supply it after the first login. In this case, the first login is done in the usual way and with the usual data (e-ID number / activation code).

1. Do you already have a valid K&H personal ID number and the belonging ePIN code

What should I do?

It is possible to log in with the K&H personal ID number and the ePIN code instead of the earlier used eID number and activation code.

Errors may occur in the following cases:

  • You already have an ePIN code, this is what you have to use for logging in.

  • You supplied your eID number / K&H personal ID number wrongly.

You can find your K&H personal ID number in your bank account statement, or you can also find it out at the branches, in person, or via our K&H TeleCenter services.

As long as you cannot remember your ePIN code, you can get repeated access to it after logging in by a chip card, by using the menu point “SMS setting, provision of ePIN code”, or you can also provide this at our branches.

3. K&H e-bank service: login is not allowed

What should I do?

Please, check whether you have selected the right e-bank (retail/trambulin/corporate) application when you logged in.

As long as you entered the right e-bank service,

  • entering the e-bank application via SMS is not allowed.

For permission to enter by SMS, enter the e-bank service with a chip card, then by using the menu point “SMS e-bank setting, ePIN provision” in the bottom menu line, or supply the phone number to which you request the sending of the SMS message (in the case of retail/ trambulin e-bank, the phone number can be supplied in the menu point “Client data”).

4. We could not send the password in an SMS message

What should I do?

The error suggests that the phone number has been set wrongly, or there is a central SMS sending problem.

In the case of retail/trambulin e-bank, the phone number can be checked after entering with a chip card, in the menu point “Client data”.

In other cases, please, call K&H TeleCenter, where we will check whether SMS sending functions, and if so, you can have the set mobile phone checked either by ePIN code identification, or in person at the branch.

What do I have to supply when I log in?

After you have selected your e-bank service (retail, trambulin, or corporate), you will have to supply the following data.

In the case of e-bank services ordered prior to September 18, 2009, the first login is performed by giving:

  • the e-ID number

  • the activation code

The e-ID number is to be found in the confirmation sheet, it is a 9-digit identification number.
The second field contains the SMS activation code, which is a 4-digit code in the confirmation sheet..

During the second, SMS-based login, it is already the K&H personal ID number and the ePIN code that should be used.

In the case of e-bank services ordered after September 18, 2009, the following should be given:

  • the K&H personal ID number and

  • the ePIN code.

The further steps of identification are unchanged.

After pushing the enter button,

  • the primary password

should be supplied.

It is the so-called primary password supplied in the SMS message that should be given here.

How many times can I give the wrong SMS activation / ePIN code?

In order to ensure that your finances are safely managed, we limit (block) your e-bank access for 24 hours after the 3. unsuccessful attempt. After the 24 hours are over, you can try your SMS login again. We will cancel your ePIN code after 3 x 3 unsuccessful attempts.

If you try to log in during the blocked period, this will prolong the blocked period.

As long as you cannot remember your ePIN code, you can get repeated access to it after logging in by a chip card, by using the menu point “SMS setting, provision of ePIN code”, or you can also provide this at our branches.

How long will my password received in an SMS message be valid?

You have to log in with the primary password received in the SMS message within 30 minutes, otherwise the password will automatically lose validity.
The primary password received in the SMS message can be used for the period of one login but for a maximum of 30 minutes (before validity expires, the validity of the primary password can be prolonged up to another 30 minutes, of which you will be warned by the system in due time).

Is there any limitation on the chip card e-bank in the case of an SMS-identified e-bank?

For security reasons, in the case of a retail e-bank, a maximum amount of HUF 500,000 per day can be transferred by login through SMS identification.
